Along with specific requirements for any major, all students in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree programs must meet all general education and graduation requirements under a single catalog.
Requirements for a major in Art with an Art History Concentration are 35 hours including:

Advisor-approved courses from other departments that support the understanding of art history
Study abroad or Wheaton in Chicago courses
Internship ART 496 - 2, 4 or 8 hours
Students are advised that ART 494 (494-1 for Art History concentration) is offered alternate years in the Fall so should be taken in the junior or senior year.
Please note: Art History courses ART 251 & ART 351 are offered each year. They are taught sequentially, spanning two semesters and taking them in order is recommended. ART 352 & ART 353 are offered every other year. They are also taught sequentially, and taking them in order is recommended. Students are encouraged to take both sets of courses (ART 251 & ART 351; ART 352 & ART 353) in different years.
A reading knowledge of two foreign languages is recommended for students who anticipate graduate study.
