Along with specific requirements for any major, all students in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree programs must meet all general education and graduation requirements under a single catalog.
Requirements for a History major are 36 hours in History, at least twelve of which must be in courses numbered 300 or above:
|HIST 201||Why History? (introduction to the discipline of history normally completed during the freshman or sophomore year)||4|
|HIST 494||Christianity/Historical Study (a culminating capstone course normally taken during the senior year)||4|
|Select four credits completed in residence from each of the following categories:||16|
Non-West (Asia, Africa, Latin America)
History of Christianity 1
|Select 12 credits||12|
Can also fulfill one of the geographical requirements listed above.
No more than eight hours of cross listed courses may apply to the major. Eight hours of history-related courses from other departments may be substituted for four hours in History with the approval of the History Department Chair.
